Dan Ghenacia

Dan Ghenacia

Experience a set by Dan Ghenacia at intimous Paris club Le Batofar at 9AM on a Sunday morning and your life will be changed for a day… Destinies are made of this for this cool man who has made his way to the first rank in the French dj circuit along with Laurent Garnier, Jack de Marseille, Dimitri from Paris, Jef K, Jerome Pacman and D'julz.

Dan discovered he had an affair with San Francisco's electronic scene in 1994 while he was studying in San Diego. He then started to appear in local clubs with well known DJ Mark E Quark and played his first set at San Francisco club The Flame.

Dan Ghenacia

Back to Paris, Dan started vinyl shop Traffic Records with a friend, and it is during a famous Magic Garden party in 1996 that he started to make himself known to party-goers. He then became continuously booked, pioneering new sounds in various parisian venues such as Rex Club (inviting San Fran djs such as Jeno, Garth or Solar) & Queen (with dj partner Ivan Smagghe) and also overseas in Ibiza (Privilege, Pacha), Greece (Cavo Paradiso), San Francisco (Fluid, The Top, 10/15 Folsom), Italy (Magazine Generali) and Hong Kong (Club Ing)...

But it's at his weekly residency for the trendy and forward thinking after-party Kwality at Le Batofar, a boat moored on the Seine River in the 13th arrondissement that Dan Ghenacia had definitely established his name. From industry people to parisian late night clubbers, les "Afters du Batofar" have become for the past three years the most unexpected underground night in the Camembert capital.

Production wise, Dan released his first mix CD, a mix of the best tracks from San Francisco entitled Sun Frenchies Co. in 1999. He then been appointed by UK-French label Cyclo Records to mix "Revolving House" a special compilation for the label's two years anniversary. He's currently working with various producers including David Duriez, Phil Weeks or Plaisir de France. And with future releases scheduled on renowned parisian labels like (set) or Brique Rouge, expect your next breakfast to be hot.
