Heather Doble

Heather Doble began her career as a DJ for one reason: her intense passion for music. Weaned on the independent music of the seventies and eighties--everything from The Commodores to Joy Division--and classically trained in ballet, she began DJing after an injury forced her to give up dance. Her demeanor is one of infectious positivity and wide-eyed enthusiasm. Add all this up, and it is no surprise that Heather has chosen a path that allows her to make other people dance through the positive energy in her music.

Over the course of the last eight years, Heather and her andrenalin-laden grooves have graced numerous clubs throughout the United States, from her home in Chicago to Milwaukee, Seattle, New York, and the UK. Since May 2002, she has held a weekly Thursday-night residency at Chicago's Berlin, and also presently enjoys a rotating residency at Three in Milwaukee. Whether it's largely her night or one of the many guest-spots that have turned up over time, one thing does remain consistent: Heather packs the floor.

Tireless in her efforts to move things forward and never satisfied with even the slightest degree of stagnation, Heather currently finds her focus in the exciting world of production. Since establishing official affiliations with both Olive Records and Soul Fuel Recordings, and also embarking on a series of collaborations with partner Jonn Hawley as the Sound Navigators, her efforts have gained notoriety from a myriad of well-known individuals in the dance music industry in both Chicago and around the world.

As is always the case, it's difficult to say exactly what's next. After all, one minute she's playing records, the next she's working on her own music or coordinating release parties and other events. But without the tiniest amount of doubt, one thing has and continues to remain clear: Heather Doble is dedicated to breathing life to constant sonic evolution.
