Vain Nightclub & Lounge
Vain Indulges Chicago Nightlife Palate with Intimacy, Decadence New nightclub/lounge melds music, elegance and service in one multi-level venue The energy of a megaclub meets the intimacy of an ultra lounge at Vain, a new, multi-sensory experience in Chicago nightlife. Guided by an elite, international management team behind venues in Tokyo, Thailand and Miami, Vain bridges two sound environments in the warm ambiance of a lounge setting. Plush couches and leather chairs dot the downstairs lounge while the upstairs boasts a sprawling dance floor and VIP seating lounge. Together, the tri-level club encompasses 7,000 square-feet of nocturnal decadence. Complimenting Vain's sultry aesthetic are the top-tier music promotions led by Chicago's Music 101 (www.music-101.com) and legendary Chicago house DJ/producer, Terry Hunter. The club's state of the art sound system delivers dual sounds to guests in two completely different sound environments on the first and upper levels. As guests step inside Vain's first floor lounge, they experience the best in deep house, mash-ups and downtempo five nights a week. Behind the bar, staff members handcraft specialty cocktails, including strawberry mojitos and Pama Liqueur lemonades. Follow the stairs to the second and third levels, where the dance floor transforms the space with an energized glitz. Club goers can indulge in two full service bars—including a private VIP bar on the third level—and bottle service nightly. The third floor VIP lounge offers seating for as many as 50 guests, along with a full list of premiere champagnes. A 30-foot, indoor waterfall cascades down the wall of this private space, then flumes to the second and first floors. Vain's gold-flecked bars reflect the light, igniting the club with an ethereal glow. Coming in late summer 2007, Vain will expand its second floor with an outdoor patio that comfortably holds up to 30 people. Guests can lounge on an array of canopy beds while cocktailing under the stars. "In opening Vain, we wanted to give guests the selection standards of a lounge with the feel of a full-on club," said P.K., Vain's operations general manager. "We're bringing the outside in—it's a nightclub with a very lounge vibe." Vain operates as a music-driven venue, showcasing the finest national and international electronic music talent five nights a week. While the downstairs lounge is reserved for downtempo, mash ups and deep house Thursday through Sunday, the upstairs club space includes rotating musical programming listed below:
Thursdays: Music 101's signature night "Slave to the Rhythm," featuring funk, soul, disco and rare grooves. Additionally, Vain will regularly host a number of private celebrity events. The club is working closely with Wayne Williams, senior vice-president and A&R of Jive/BMG, on hosting celebrity appearances and birthday parties. Vain's grand opening gala takes place on Friday, July 6. Doors open at 9 p.m.
Vain is located at 2354 N. Clybourn Ave. Hours of operation are Tuesday, Thursday-Friday and Sunday, 9 p.m. to 2 a.m.; Saturday, 9 p.m. to 3 a.m.; Monday and Wednesday, closed.
